 Sescie's Room

Sescie had been living in the Mansion for over a year now. She was settling down and getting used to this new life. Her right hand ached with yearning to kill. Sescie longed to use her Nen Chain, but resisted. She made a promise to the Proffesor that she wouldn't return to her old assassin habits.

She yawned and opened her eyes. She lay on her bed, staring up at the ceiling. Her eyes shifted around the room, then closed again. Soft rock tunes surrounded her and she hummed along.

The eighteen year old's room was fairly tidy. It was painted scarlet red, and made even brighter by the afternoon sunlight outside. Sescie's bed sat at one corner of the room, while two other corners were occupied by books of all sorts and sizes. Horror, mystery and suspense covered most of the collection, though there were a few encyclopedias and dictionaries. There was a stray romance book or two lying around, much forgotten and enveloped in a thin layer of dust.

In the last corner, there was a small table. A stereo set sat upon this table, and a vast collection of tapes and CD's littered the area around it. A small stack of CD's lay next to the stereo, presumably Sescie's favourites. My Chemical Romance, Dashboard Confessional, Aerosmith, Muse and Red Hot Chili Peppers were a few to name.

A small locket rested on the nightstand next to Sescie's bed. It was opened and a carefully cut out photo lay in velvet. On closer inspection, it turned out to be a picture of Sescie's mother.

Sescie opened her eyes and picked up the locket, fondly stroking the picture inside.

"Don't worry, Mama. I'm fine. I think I'm almost happy here." She smiled faintly.
